It still largely remains lost on me how people come to trust me as quickly as they do. In fairness, I AM partially aware of it but acts of trust stick with me because trust in itself can be incredibly tough to build and yet fragile enough to be shattered without much exertion. Yasmin welcoming me into her childhood home and letting me meet her mother, brother, and niece tells you everything you need to know about her and these photographs. The grass in the front yard is the same grass she grew up playing on. The front door she’s standing by is the same door she went in and out for most of her life. The vibrant, self-reflecting, and playful person you see in these photos is exactly who she is and she’s done nothing but share that vibrancy with me since we’ve met.
