Grace

Brooklyn, New York (Digital)

The lovely Ms. Grace. That’s me actually commenting on her appearance, that’s what I call her when she randomly texts me. Grace and I met when she still lived in Atlanta and we’ve been pretty great friends since. On this particular day she was actually going through something and I could tell as we went along that something was bothering her so by the end of the day, we had spent more time talking than actually taking pictures. So much so that once the sunlight vanished we ordered some food and kept the evening going cause the company was mutually appreciative. These were at her previous apartment, and I personally prefer sunrise light as opposed to prime golden hour colors but the strength of the orange light on this day looked like you could almost reach out and touch it. The shots on her blatancy in particular have been for well over a year some of the best light balanced images I have ever taken and I’m proud to mention that they were taken with a camera from 2005 that I got for about $100 on Facebook Marketplace taxed with a 6 hour round trip drive to Allentown, PA, really drove home for me at least that the power and potential in capturing image is how the tool is used as opposed to the tool itself.
