Melanie is an absolute dork. She laughs at half (most) the nonsense I say but that’s likely because I too am an absolute dork. We took these at her childhood home in Queens which isn’t entirely unique as I’ve photographed people at home before but these were taken about a month before she moved into her own place. Melanie mentioned even before she had seen the final product that these would be special because she’d have them to look back on. As much as we all hate to admit, even our most fond memories fade under the weight of time but what I’ve found and I hope she can too, is that looking at some images can immediately take you back to a moment. You can recount with what you think is perfect accuracy the taste in the air, humidity, and if you’re really really good, maybe what you had for breakfast that morning. I hope these can be that for her. Alright, all done with the sentimentality, hope you enjoy the photos.
