One of the things that sticks out about Maya which could also be seen as an overarching theme of these is how prepared and committed she was to making this happen. I photographed her on the 4th of July weekend, the 3rd I believe, and even with a weekend filled with a trillion and one reasons to change plans, she was ready with about 6 different outfits when I made it to her apartment. Oh, and that apartment, it was one of five potential locations we’d be considering. This is funny for someone that doesn’t consider themselves very fussy or picky, yet I was and remain infinitely appreciative of Maya and anyone that does their due to ensure the fundamentals surrounding having their portraits taken are intact.
