“I’m just like AAA. I’m asthmatic, anemic, and I have anxiety.” That’s pretty much how she introduced herself when we met back in 2017. The pictures from our first time working with each other aren’t in this album but the ripples of the impact live on to this day. From my end, there was a particular shot where I was sitting on court looking up at her sitting on a table and it is still to this day one of the sharpest and well defined photographs I have ever taken and though I don’t have an all time ranking, it comes to mind frequently enough to think it would live rent free in my top 10 portraits that I’ve taken. On her end though, looping back to that anxiety part of the AAA, the response she got from those photos both directly and through my forwarding her some of the comments I was seeing on Tumblr reassured her that she was enough, that she was capable, that she could do it. It being whatever the hell she decides. As for her AAA line, when we took these photographs a couple months ago she was glad to inform me that while she was still asthmatic and anemic, she had made a lot of progress on the anxiety front. Anywho, this is Jarline from Corona, Queens.
