When I reached out to Brenda she mentioned that she didn’t often find herself in front of cameras, at least not in a “professional” sense. Nonetheless, she was willing to kick it with me for an hour roaming around the Lower East Side of Manhattan, and while she isn’t a big talker, she did deliver in every other possible facet of the time we spent together. Between the outfit, the accessories, the (absolutely insane) hair, and the locations, the hour we spent together flowed like watching remastered footage of Michael Jordan cutting through an otherwise solid defense. Brenda’s confidence is ever present without being stifling, and when paired with an acute self-awareness, the resulting portraits paint a picture of subject-setting agreement that for me at least, checks all the boxes.
